Job Description

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Supervisor – Security Events is to provide direct management and supervision of the On-Call Security team working the theaters/showrooms.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This is a safety–related position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Hires and schedules On-Call Officers on the team and ensure Security operations are coordinated in the theaters and showrooms at The Venetian Resort.
  • Assists Security operations outside of the theaters and showrooms, according to business needs.
  • Determines staffing needs for evening on-call positions; organizes and coordinates personnel, equipment and resources to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Works with the Assistant Manager to interview and select new personnel.
  • Enters time and attendance into Kronos.
  • Provides guidance, feedback, coaching, and performance reviews for Officers.
  • Responds to emergencies/incidents in the theaters and showrooms.
  • Expedites deflation of a potential threat, evaluate crisis or life-threatening situations, and implement or take action based upon information or situation analysis.
  • Works as a team with the Entertainment Department to provide crowd control and exceptional guest service.
  • Escorts VIPs as requested by Entertainment Department management.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supplements Security operations outside of the theaters and showrooms, as assigned or necessary, and answers to the on-duty Shift Manager in the absence of the Security Events Assistant Manager.
  • Provides operational direction to team of ten On-Call Officers in the evening while shows and events are in session in the theaters and showrooms.
  • Provides a security presence in and around The Venetian Resort theaters and showrooms, and observes any disruptive or improper behavior by guests.
  • Reports any operational or personnel challenges to the Assistant Manager.
  • Ensures safety practices are followed and reports are completed.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board registration, Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card, a valid Nevada Driver’s License, and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 2 years of experience in security/military/law enforcement/criminal justice.
  • Working knowledge of intermediate computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
