Front Desk / Patient Services Representative

Location: Owosso

Training Location: Bay City (first 2 weeks – mileage reimbursed)

Schedule:

• Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

A busy and well-established orthotic and prosthetic medical practice is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Front Desk / Patient Services Representative for its Owosso location. This position supports a high-volume clinic (20–35 patients per day) and plays a critical role in patient experience, insurance processes, and front-office operations.

The selected candidate will complete two weeks of training at the Bay City location , with reimbursed mileage , before transitioning to the Owosso office.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients professionally and efficiently
• Answer phones and assist patients with general inquiries
• Verify, enter, and maintain accurate patient demographic information
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations/precertifications
• Quote and collect patient payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance
• Schedule and manage patient appointments
• Update patient records within the EMR system
• Provide general administrative and front office support
• Cross-train in patient check-out and prior authorization functions
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of medical office front desk experience
• Minimum 2 years of EMR/electronic medical record system experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience with medical terminology
• Proven experience verifying insurance coverage
• Strong computer proficiency and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an orthotic and prosthetic medical office (preferred/bonus)
• Familiarity with OPIE EMR
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lennon, MI.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.00/hr.
