Level A Underground Solutions is seeking a qualified Private Utility Locator in the NY/NJ area to assist us with our growing customer demand in the region. Description

• This person is responsible for the operation of SUE field equipment used to locate underground utilities.
• Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
• Thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately marking the location, completing the necessary documentation, and photographing each locate.
• Able to create electronic field sketches, use simple mathematics and utilize basic field measurements.
• The major objectives are the quality, accuracy, thoroughness, and ability to follow instructions.
• Requires a lot of walking for long periods of time through all kinds of terrain, uneven ground and sometimes water.
• Out-of-town travel should be expected as part of this position.
• Shift times will vary based on location of job site. May routinely involve early morning starts or late evening end times.

Required Experience

• Proficient in SUE field operations and use of SUE locating equipment required. Pay commensurate with experience.
• Individual will have good technical skills; behavioral traits of process oriented, steady, helpful, honest, trustworthy, adaptable, analytical, problem solver, likes work alone when required, methodical, consistent, detail oriented, precise, hates mistakes, likes structure.
• Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED(R). Associated Degree (P).
• Background check and pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

Performance Expectations:

• Participate in cross training as requested to build a stronger team.
• Reviews jobsite safety daily and takes immediate action to document and resolve issues
• Understands OSHA Safety Standards and Level A corporate policies and follows them at all times
• Accurately record and report your work each day on the forms provided
• Work with your team to maximize your production and accuracy to help us achieve our goal
• Communicates effectively with client, contractor, staff, and supervisor
• Performs other duties as assigned
