Pharmacy Assistant

Location  Louisville, KY | Onsite

Compensation & Schedule

• $19.00 per hour

• Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM (occasional mandatory overtime as needed)

Role Description:  The Pharmacy Assistant supports high-volume prescription fulfillment within an automated refill center. This role ensures accurate picking, packing, and shipment of medications directly to patients, contributing to safe, timely delivery and positive patient outcomes. Success is measured by production accuracy, adherence to HIPAA standards, and consistent achievement of daily shipping goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick and pack individual prescription orders for direct-to-patient shipment using on-screen prompts and system instructions

• Process, sort, and stage orders by store location; fold and insert required paperwork with prescriptions

• Load completed totes and product into delivery trucks for shipment

• Maintain steady workflow to meet daily production targets in a fast-paced environment

• Comply with all pharmacy standard operating procedures (SOPs), company policies, and federal/state HIPAA regulations to protect patient safety and privacy

• Identify, address, and escalate workflow or order issues to management as needed

Licenses & Certifications

• Pharmacy Assistant certification required

• Upon hire, must obtain a Kentucky Board of Pharmacy Technician License at employee’s expense ($25)

Clinical Skill Set

• Prescription order fulfillment and packaging

• Automated refill center operations

• Warehouse receiving and shipping processes

• HIPAA compliance and patient data privacy standards

• Inventory sorting and tote staging

• Production workflow management

• Quality control and detail-oriented verification

Preferred Skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based production setting

• Strong attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks

• Effective problem recognition and resolution skills

Legal Notice

This position requires the ability to lift and carry 20–25 pounds and work in a fast-paced, production-based warehouse environment. Occasional mandatory overtime may be required to meet daily workload demands.
