Job Description

Salary: $93,000 - 125,000 per year Requirements:

  • A university degree or college diploma in Information Technology with three years of relevant experience in the IT sector, OR a technical diploma/certificate in Information Technology with five years of direct experience in the IT field.
  • Strong expertise with network devices including routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
  • In-depth knowledge of network subnets, VLANs, routing principles, topology, and design.
  • Comprehensive understanding of contemporary Internet technologies, including VPNs, web filtering tools, and cloud-based services.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and deployment experience with end-user hardware and software.
  • Proficient in operating systems such as Windows 7/8/10/11 and Server editions 2012 to 2019.
  • Familiarity with various software applications, including Microsoft 365, Office Suite, SharePoint, and Active Directory.
  • Technically adept with software tools necessary for effective network administration.
  • Proven capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize tasks in a dynamic setting.
  • Capacity to research, adopt, and integrate innovative technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster cooperation among team members and contractors from diverse backgrounds.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and relationship management skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain certification for aerial work platforms for network equipment deployment.
  • Physical capacity for walking on concrete surfaces and lifting objects up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional travel for vendor meetings and off-site deployments will be necessary.
  • Availability for on-call support after hours.
Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and address hardware and software issues in routers, switches, wireless controllers, access points, firewalls, and related network devices.
  • Design, set up, deploy, and uphold interior and perimeter security measures, such as wireless authentication, intrusion detection systems, antivirus applications, and web filtering.
  • Collaborate and co-lead process improvement initiatives across all organizational networks.
  • Coordinate with systems administrators and database management teams to ensure network availability, reliability, and scalability meet corporate goals.
  • Ensure compliance of network devices with established policies, security standards, licensing agreements, and configuration protocols.
  • Monitor system performance and provide analysis and reports.
  • Research network-related hardware and software to support procurement and development initiatives.
  • Review and implement new firmware, signatures, IOS versions, and vendor updates as per best practices.
  • Validate that new network hardware integrates seamlessly and meets functional specifications.
  • Utilize helpdesk software to track status and resolution of requests, projects, and tasks.
  • Engage in cross-departmental projects when necessary or assigned.
  • Facilitate training sessions, presentations, and meetings as required for projects.
  • Foster and nurture relationships within and beyond the company to ensure project success.
  • Develop best practices and tools to enhance project execution.
