Ascend Collateral Exams is a financial services firm offering collateral examination and due diligence services to our nationwide client base of bank and non-bank lenders. We perform new business and recurring collateral exams on our clients’ borrowers, to help identify and mitigate potential risks concerning pledged collateral. Our agenda is to transform the collateral examination industry by providing unparalleled service and insight to our clients.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The field examiner will be responsible for performing field examinations and due diligence projects to support our clients’ loan portfolios. This will primarily involve conducting on-site (and remote) collateral audits, typically covering accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, cash, financials, insurance, and taxes. Specific activities will include:

• Conduct new business and recurring field audits on our clients’ borrowers.
• Collect and consolidate a series of data and reports provided by the Company.
• Analyze trends, conduct sample testing, and generate a thorough understanding of the Company’s collateral base and assess potential collateral risk and lender exposure.
• Effectively communicate with our clients’ borrowers (Manager to C-Level Executives), our clients (Lenders) and Ascend Management daily.
• Complete field examinations in a timely manner while maintaining Ascends’ reputation for quality.

• Strong communication skillset, capable of leading discussions with the Company, Lender and Management.
• Exceptional writing skills, capable of writing reports weekly and effectively communicating findings.
• “Can do” attitude with the capacity to pivot and/or think outside the box.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in a related field (internships included).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookups, Sumifs, If statements).
• General understanding of accounting and financial statements.
• Willingness and desire to travel up to ~ 25%.
• A valid U.S. Driver’s License

ADDITIONAL DETAIL:

• Budgeted compensation between $50K - $70K depending on experience.
• Benefits offered include medical, dental, vision, 401K and HSA.
• Potential bonus incentives, based on performance.
